2019 Mid Ohio F the Track Day interest?
#17
Thanks for the tag!!! I feel so important now with my heavily modified F . Would love to meet you guys in person. I cannot express enough how much this forum has helped me with knowing my mods. Since it's so far from now I have no idea if I'll be available or not but I'll try my best to make it in person!! <3

I'm in the Lafayette, IN area and would be interested in either Putnam or Mid Ohio. I've haven't done a track day before, mostly back road cruises around Nashville \ Brown county in small groups. FYI - '15 RC-F.

Minor update from Autointerests...
June 10th at Mid-Ohio is not available, but they are working on a replacement date. They are also working on publishing information for group discounts and will contact me once that is ready.

Registration is open. No word on any additional group discounts yet.
Mid Ohio dates are
Monday May 13
Friday July 12
Monday August 12
No one has said if any particular date works better than any other (I personally like May 13 but am flexible).
I did reach out to @RRRacing to see if they were interested and if so, which date.
Once I hear back from them or if there is strong interest in a particular date, I will choose a date and promote the event ASAP on various forums and social media sites before it fills up.
Stay tuned for more. But feel free to provide any suggestions in the meantime!

Note that you start at 7am that day and end around 4pm. So for a Friday event, you either leave Thursday night or REALLY early Friday to arrive at 7am.
For a Monday event, you could travel Sunday night which may be easier (or leave REALLY early Monday) and come home Monday night.
Just an observation....I'm good for any of the dates.

OFFICIAL DATE: Friday, July 12
OK folks...chatter has been quiet on this topic. I just looked at the May 13 date and the Novice class is almost filled up.
So I am making an executive decision that we go with FRIDAY JULY 12.
This will allow more time to register, school will be out, weather is hotter (less chance of rain but could be miserably hot), and those interested could stay over Friday night and we could have an F gathering at Columbus or Dayton Cars n Coffee event the next day (Saturday). (Dayton is an hour west of Columbus but host 700+ cars. Mid Ohio is about 45 minutes North of Columbus.
For true first-timers, it is not a big deal. I've been in your shoes (and I still have a lot to learn). Autointerests actually has both a First Time novice and an Experienced Novice group to help ease into it. So no worries on being slow or running into something. Those groups are very low key and include instructors and classes for balanced safety and fun. Then you will be hooked!!! Here's a description:
"FIRST-TIME drivers need to work on the below competencies, and prove to have mastered them before being approved to move to the (Solo) Novice group. In this run group, the first two sessions are pace-controlled for acclimation and learning purposes."
"NOVICE drivers should have already mastered the above competencies and then will begin to work on the additional ones listed below. Drivers in this group must be previously approved (by our organization or a compatible one) or have prior successful experience and comfort with driving solo. If you've NEVER had formal instruction for driving on a road course you MUST start in the First Timer or Acclimation group. In Novice you will get several sessions of instruction throughout the day, but will NOT have an instructor for every session."

As I said, the May date is booking up fast.
So if you are interested please sign up for the July 12 event ASAP!
Tier 1 price of $265 until March 22, 2019 but it will likely fill up by then.
Get the word out on social media...the more participants, the more the fun!
