So I ended up picking up a set from tirerack last month after reading Weapon F's first initial review of these tires. I was running Bridgestone S-04's (245/35 F & 285/30R) before and loved the Bridgestones, but thought I'd give the General G Max a try. I ended up getting 255/35F & 275/30R and have been driving/commuting on these tires for about a month now. Within the month in California, we've seen 75+ degree weather to now 38 degree cold/rainy mornings. Just in the first month of driving on these, rode noise is similar to the Bridgestones, haven't experienced the same flat spotting I was getting with the Bridgestones when they were cold, tires perform great on a launch and in turns when they get warmed up, and they've handled very well in the rain to my surprise.
If I were to change anything, it would be to go with 245's in the front because I can hear this tire chewing up my fender liners going up and down driveways and hitting dips on the highway. I'm probably lowered close to 2".... I'll report back in a few months.

Lou no disrespect intended I know you have many years experience with cars and on this form and definitely respect your opinion but there a lot of things they don't recommend that people do all the time with no major ill effects from running stretched tires to gutting their primary cats. I myself have been running 255 / 35 / 19 on my OEM 2011 rims on street for yrs. Now if you're going to track your car I would not recommend running the smaller size rim I would run the appropriate rim
size with the appropriate tire size when tracking your car.
