How to Fill Coolant

I've had my car since October, and my heater has always worked. So... it happened, I decided I didn't like that the coolant was always "Low." So I filled to "High" and drove a bit, a few days later the car puked coolant up on my driveway.
It looks like it might have left the expansion tank over flow, but the belts and fans managed to blow this stuff all over the front.
I guess it could be a water pump, but that was changed a few years ago. I did put on a new serp belt, I don't see how that would cause it.
The upper radiator hose also has plenty around where it enters the radiator.
Any ideas?
My plan is to start/idle the car from a "cool" condition and leave the tank cap off and watch for big burps or something like that.
If that doesn't yield I'll start/idle the car with the cap on and see if it pukes again...
Sounds exciting.

Radiator upper tank is cracked. Sorry for the truth, but my Supra did the same thing years ago.

Yeah thanks. I've got parts on the way.
The current plan is to visually evaluate the trans fluid and if discolored use this as an opportunity to change the trans fluid. Reading your oil analysis indicates that's not needed, but I would rather just perform the trans filling procedure once. Thanks for all the resources in the massive trans fluid thread.
