Been looking at a one owner 2008 IS-F with 85,000 miles for $25k. Dealer service history is good. I would think if I wait it out I can find one around the same price with lower miles. I'm in no rush. However the fact it's a one owner is intriguing. Looks to be in excellent shape. Thoughts?
Yeah the IS-Fs around here go in a week or two at best. As you know it's a rare car. I would just have to take a chance on the valley plate - don't see anything in the service history about that.
Here is another thought: would you go '08 with 85k for $25k or a '10 with 108k for $25k? I did see one located not too far from me. Not worried about mileage at all!

'08 with one owner would be my choice but if you "need" the LSD then the '10 isn't a bad choice either.
Try to negotiate the price a bit. I bought my 08 with 94k miles for 23k and it was a two owner car along with lots of maintenance history at Lexus. I would get it.
Thanks. I know I'll need to act fast if I want it. When looking at the service history I noticed the ELF recall hadn't been done...which might turn out to be a good thing. I could ask the dealer to take care of the valley plate while they're in there...I know it's easier to take care of while they're doing the recall than to pull everything apart twice.
If you are buying from a dealer, they can't sell it without doing the ELF recall. It's a major safety concern. If the valley plate is leaking, sure get it fixed. If it isn't, I wouldn't. They don't all have this issue (mine surely does not or I would have got a call when they did the ELF recall) and I'm over 160k miles including a few track weekends. Just because some have the problem doesn't mean you should fix something that isn't broken.

Thanks. I actually did see some notes on Lexusdrivers.com about them sending the car from Toyota to Lexus to handle the ELF recall. So guess that will be taken care of.
Decided to wait on the IS-F for the moment. I think if I'm patient I can find one with less than 50,000 miles in the $26-27k range. At least that's what a quick search online shows. I'm in no rush...just waiting on the right color combination (silver/black) and owners. Thanks for all the input.
I saw a 2010 IS-F for $25k on Autotrader today. No mileage was listed yet but the last service was in the 80k range, so I'm guessing 80-85k.
Q: should I be concerned about the scrape on the bumper? Not sure how much it would be to have it repaired. I do know an indy with a great body shop that repaired my GS.
Looking at my local market I wouldn't sell my 08 with 86k with light mods for less than $25k. But I can understand buyers wanting a deal. As long as you like the color and the cars been taken care of, buy it! They go quick. I recently contemplated a switch to an RCF/CTSV2 or C6 and CT200h, but then I got hit with valley plate and decided to just update the coils and be happy until GSF or F80 dips below $40k. In the $20k-40k range it’s difficult to find an all around great performance sedan that’s cheap to own, so I think people are realizing why the ISF is a gem.
