Default Finally Track Prepped an ISF!

Having ran these for 6 years or so, over three separate ISF's, I've finally took the plunge and got one ready for track work. I can't wait!!
I've had this USB one on once, in standard trim, and it was good. A bit loose at the back, but good all the same. Std brakes held up well, but the seats were terrible!

SO! Mods have been; Recaro CS, Penske Two Ways, RR URSS, Braided Lines, Carbotec XP10s front & back, 18x9.5 ET45 Wheels & CUPs rubber. It also has H&S exhaust and an intake (which have always been on the car).

First track outing booked for 23rd of March. Hope we dont have any snow! Otherwise, I can't wait!!

Here is a vid from when I had it out stock (apart from breathing mods);

And some pics of how it is now along with a few of before not long after I fitted the seats.

Very nice. What tire size were you running on that set up with the 18s?

Those Sportsters, the alcantara wheel... what an epic combo. Love it man.

Those seats are hands down my favorite for function and form. Have any trouble tricking the SRS functions? Assume you used resistors.

Thanks John!

Aim was to make it look like Lexus made it. The only downside, no more heated seats!! Still, a fair trade off for the perfect driving position and quite a bit more lateral support.

That's a beauty! Love the seats especially... I'd happily ditch the heated function for those!

Can you provide contact info for auto electrician, if he wants more business?

i want race seats, but regularly drive my family and need airbags to work. The lowered driving position would give me more helmit room, and the race seats would provide more backseat leg room.

plus then I could use my F seats in my 350. It’s a win win.

Did you have the rear seats recovered to match the front? Those seats look amazing. The stock seats do suck in these cars.

Guys, I'm in Scotland so my contacts aren't going to be much use for you guys. Sorry!

Wheels are just cheapies to make sure I like 18s and the tyre size works with the car. Bola B7 Tyres are Michelin Pilot CUP2 in 265/35/18 and wheels size is 18x9.5 ET45 all round. I'm delighted with the fitment.

I'm pretty chuffed so far. Just a wing and adjustable rear arms now and I'm pretty much sorted for this year. Headers and a tune would be nice, but the car is more than quick enough for the time being.

Cheers,
Stevie

You said the OEM brakes held up well previously but it looks like you opted to switch to XP10 pads anyways. What were you hoping to improve and do you think it was a crucial upgrade in the end or worth it?

The OEM pads held up well for OEM pads. I'd usually expect regular pads to fade horribly after 3/4 laps, but they did hold up for 10-12 laps of my local circuit (the track in the vid above). That being said, I was still very aware of the terrible brake pedal and groaning coming form the brakes. It didn't inspire huge confidence, and its confidence you need when working to bring your lap times down. I certainly wasn't looking to make up time in the braking zones!

The XP10s initial bite is on another level, like x4 times as aggressive. Its like you're hardly putting any weight on the pedal for twice the amount of braking performance. And its repeatable, again and again.

They'll more than likely use up discs for fun, but thats just part and parcel of aggressive pad compounds.

Hope this helps,
Stevie

+1 for me as well, have some Bride Stradias ready to go in, if your Auto Electrician friend would be willing to work his magic on US spec. instrument displays.

BTW, your car is absolutely gorgeous. Thanks for sharing details on your build.
