Hey Team
Long time lurker, thanks for taking the time to help me out.
I've been googling and trying to read the brochures but I can't find a 100% definitive answer.
On the ISF, are the Air bags physically inside the seats or are they 'Driver Side seats' which are on the side of the drivers and passengers.
I'm asking because if the the Airbags are not physically inside the seats, in the state I live, Victoria Australia, I can legally replace them with ADR approved seats which can save a whopping total of 40kgs (88lbs). If they are not, I won't be able to replace the seats.
Thanks again. Regards

Mate,
i'm 90% sure that the stock IS-F seat does contain an airbag. I think a thread a while back someone replaced their seats with Recaro sportster CS which retained the airbag functions...

I think most guys just forego the seat airbag if they want race seats. Are you wanting to keep them for safety reasons, I assume?
wiring the new ones in may be a pain.

I'm getting a GT 86 for race purposes.
i have this wierd project I'm about to embark on dubbed "The IS-F as it should have been face lifted in 2012". My father recently passed away and it was something we'd occasionally mention and I'd talk to him about (he was a motor mechanic). Kind of my way of remembering the best of him.
