Atomic Silver FTW! I do love matte colors as well and I always find myself drooling over the RC F Anniversary Edition! XD

Subjectively, yes. The 2JZ GTE drivetrain capabilities in stock form made it a cult classic. It’s a shame that the new Supra engine won’t be as strong / capable as the Z4 engine. It’s an insult that the Supra has a BMW engine, but giving it a weaker version of the engine is flat out rubbing salt in a wound.

Good choice on getting back in a Lexus 5.0. I wish you many happy laps.

Love the RC-F, but you probably should have waited for the Supra....unless you are planning on supercharging it.

The MKV weighs 700lbs less than the Z4 the 45hp difference isn't a an issue imo. Plus it's $15K cheaper.

With that said no way the MKV is actually 335hp at crank based on the numbers posted above with 0-60 3.8 which is faster than the RC-F track edition.

New supra is seriously quick, I wonder how much it really is on a dyno.

I wonder if C&D got another ringer. In 1993, they got a red hardtop that produced numbers no other magazine or owner's Supra produced. Rumors about the ECM in that particular car are legendary.

All the weight stats I saw were not impressive. I think the Z4 and Supra weigh close to the same. Where did you find a 700 pound difference?

Nobody accused the new Supra of being slow... but pure facts show the Z4 has a better engine.

No way it's a 700 lb difference, ad every other test out there has the 0-60 at 4.1 sec, not 3.8 (big difference). And it it has a 0-60 of 3.8 and "only" trapping 113, it has no top end.
Still a nice overall car though.

One of those many review videos mentioned that being the difference will find it. The MKV engine is not 335hp crank pulling those times so who knows what power it really makes.

Agreed it's not a top end car but how many average drivers even care about top end. I don't see this being a 1/2 mile event type car at all but who knows what new owners will do. I personally think mid 5XX whp will be the sweet spot for this car.

Sorry for derailing OP. I look forward to your build. I prefer an RCF over the Supra, I think both cars serve different purposes though.

Just a tune on it would get those number down - I wouldn’t be surprised.

I read somewhere (Motor Trend I believe) that the Z4 would be "around "3600". If true that should make for a weight difference closer to 250lbs. Z4 could be a monster rumor dependent.

I still have a deposit down on a Supra so time will tell. Now the RCF isn’t far off RC F hit 60 mph from a standstill in just 4.3 12.7 seconds @ 112.2

I can attribute the quicker 60 time to gearing and launch control like was said the 2020 with launch and gearing is sub 4. The quarter mile is better indicator of speed and it’s a drivers race at that best.
