Seibon quality?
I have made a list of Carbon pieces I plan to pick up, and I also have noticed many of you using Seibon pieces.
How is the fit and finish of Seibon? How is it holding up? The hood looks like it will help with heat in a big way.

Considering that they aren't cheap, and on par with NOVEL carbon pieces which are far more expensive, I would say that they are very good. I have their carbon fiber hood with vents, and it was flawless when I received it. I don't know about long term yet though.

Seibon quality is very good. I have had many customers in CA, AZ, and Texas with massive heat have no issues with the carbon.
We have them in stock!

Seibon Hood and Trunk
I'm running both a Seibon hood and trunk lids that are of Good Quality with okay fitments (gaps are bigger than I would like). Remember Seibon products are not 100% pure carbon fiber its a carbon fiber over fiberglass product and real carbon fiber will cost a lot more.

So is the skin (out side portion) real carbon fiber, and the skeleton (underside) fiber glass?

That explains the difference. Novel is double the price .

I have seen some bad reviews on novel as well, but the Novel hood actually looks like it will add downforce with a good splitter. My concern is also fitment of a supercharger. I don’t currently plan to SC... but I’ll never say never depending on how the platform develops. I will probably buy a novel carbon roof. Hopefully their pieces last. They are expensive, plus it’s the freaking roof .

I daily drive my F all year round in the Midwest (I’m in IN) so it’s seen everything. (I am fortunate enough to have a garage for her). The durability of the hood is great. That being said, the clear coat Seibon uses tends to haze up after 2.5-3 years. I initially thought they were water spots that just would not come off. I got mine reclear coated about 4 months ago. There is a tiny bit of a gap issue but it’s only noticeable if you know to look for it. it is light weight but not that much lighter than stock so don’t expect much weight savings. Overall I would for sure recommend and for the price it’s hard to beat.

While the Seibon looks *****in' and will almost certainly let a lot of air through, I went with Novel because of the placement of it's vents. Fewer vents will be easier to block off for use during rainy weather. Plus, I haven't seen another one. It's not on the car yet, so can't comment on fitment.
The vendor (Mod In Japan) provided pic of the underside, so i'm confident it's supercharger compatible.
