Hey folks,
I'm considering a 2010+ ISF that is listed for sale at around $10k-12k below market value. It has a $15k claim on it from a rear collision that was repaired, and then another $2k claim, for the rear as well. Dealership folks are completely transparent with me about this.
I went to go check it out and I don't think the recent $2k one was fully repaired. I'm looking at (1) refinishing the rear bumper (2) repairing / replacing some clips that hold the bumper to the rear quarter panels [both sides] (3) refinish the rear quarter panels where they meet the rear bumper under the tail lights , it looks like the bumper was pushed into the rear quarter panels and the left a mark.
Can the clips that hold the bumper in place be replaced or repaired? I wish I had taken some pics.

The rear bumper cover clips into a black plastic bracket. Those brackets bolt onto the unibody and are replaceable. If the female tabs on the cover are bent, it may sag/not line up properly.
On a sidenote, a $15k rear end claim seems very significant. I was rear ended at a low speed and pushed into a vehicle in front of me. The cosmetic-only repairs (front and rear) on mine totaled $4.5kCAD. At $15k, there was undoubtedly damage to quarters, the spare tire well and potentially other components.

OP,
I think I know the car you're talking about (I'm in Kitchener). I think it's a great price with fairly low mileage. I would definitely take to a Lexus deal for a good inspection. That dealer seems to have a good warranty period as well (If it's the place I'm thinking it is) 3 day/300km return, and 30 day/1500km exchange. I don't see how you could really go wrong if everything checks out. The only issue I could think of is resale. The carfax is going to show up again if you ever want to sell the car. I'm not sure if you can get Lexus to sign off on it if everything checks out 100% good? Just be sure to check the usual things (valley plate leak, leaky headers, ect.)
In any event, good luck with the decision! PS. I'm not affiliated with them lol. Just offering an opinion.

15k damage in the rear... i would keep waiting... not worth it. if it was cosmetic... then i would say go for it, but 15k does not sound like it's cosmetic. you don't want to encounter issues down the road that's going to cost you even more.... then the 10-12k you saved becomes neutralized...
