It’s interesting that the ccsr does not have a diffuser, but the ccsp does. It may be that a diffuser is not beneficial on this platform?
Edit: some have canards, some have diffusers, and there are at least three different wings on CCSRs that I found online.

This is quality content, thanks for posting. I have been three times, twice for work and once as a tourist. Amazing culture and remarkable trip, highly recommended.
Sadly I did not have the automotive experience you did. I did manage to see a fair bit of hero cars through the years lurking around and did manage to sit in the new Nissan GT-R in a showroom before it was officially in the states back in 07. My automotive photography is limited to the attached Super Turbo. Its super, it has to be good, right?
I wonder how many hours/laps/miles on those CCS-R. Also wonder how much....

Great post! What a great time you had. I've been going to Japan since 2003 sometimes 2-4 times a year and pretty much every-single-time ive stumbled into once in a lifetime experience. Like you said you have to show respect and enthusiasm and you'll be surprised the situations you find yourself in. I make it a point to visit every single track i am near (i think i've hit all of them except one in the far north) The people are always super nice & even though my Japanese is non-existent we always manage to somehow communicate about our passions.
Ive lucked into a few things: I got a ride around Fuji in the Pre-launch RCF pacecar before a Super GT weekend
All it took was a bit of chatting and the guy looked over his shoulders and told me to hop in. Ive since gone back and driven the track but that was a very special couple of laps for me.
Similarly we took a tour of the Toyota heavy industry museum and after asking all sorts of questions and being genuinely interested on that they had to say they forged then stamp pressed a rod for to take home.
I've also found myself somehow with a full access to tracks from Kyushu to Motegi to Tsukuba and got watch some pretty epic cars lap from track side. Here me just hanging on the outside of t1 at tsukuba while the ASM s2k reset the NA rwd record.
I try and return the favor to any foreigner i see visiting somewhere I know. i 100% believe its karma.
Cant wait to get back as soon as this Covid **** is done with.
