Default ISF Powerstop z23 brake pads

Hey guys, im curious as to whether anyone has ever run the z23 carbon-fiber-ceramic brake pads on their F. I dont track the car but occasionally do open the car up and would like a good enough pad to slow down quickly and safely. Budget is tight so any alternatives to the z23 or should i just go with them? Thanks and any info is appreciated!

Did these z23 about 5k miles ago and they were great. Not bad for $35 on rockauto... I didn’t do them for performance, but rather to lessen the dust. They put out probably 50% less dust than the OEM pad.

Thats good to hear, and yea they are really cheap for being non-metallic or whatever they call them. hows the pad wearing, quickly or slowly and hows the bite? also this may be a stupid question but have you ever tried to come to a quick stop from over 100mph? id like to know if there is confidence with these pads as i will occasionally open the car up and want to be confident in stopping. Also im planning on pairing these pads with the raybestos rotors, so if you know anything about those plz let me know! Thanks again for your input!

Same exact combo with Raybestos rotors. I don’t notice any difference from the stock pads and rotors I removed. Definitely recommend following the instructions from powerstop to bed the pads correctly. They felt a little slippery until I did that.

No way lol, they are a pretty good deal for the whole set, pads and rotors. Is there still a lot of life left on the pads and rotors?

Too early to tell, only have less than 5k miles on it. Also I did the street performance rotors and not the R-line. Shipping was a little high, i think almost $20. Dont forget to google rockauto discount code and you should be able to get another 5%.

Are those Raybestos rotors good? They cost almost the same as the Brembo ones. I read a thread awhile back that the cooling channels are fins just like the OEM design. I plan on getting replacements later and trying to avoid rotors rusting from the sea air.

Not sure where you are pricing the rotors from... But from Rockauto Raybestos street performance front rotors are $45 vs $85 each for the brembo rotors.

The top hats on the Raybestos rotors are painted black from the factory, you can see in my pic a few posts up.

Interesting. I'm on Rockauto like practically everyday and I thought I saw them priced up higher like Centric rotors. Maybe I was mistaken or they dropped the price?

So far im pretty happy with the performance. Hard to beat under $150 for pads and rotors shipped to my door.

Have you installed these yet? I know some Vette and Camaro owners were complaining about the Z26 brake pads staining their rotors a brown a color. Some people reported staining and some people did not experience that. They of changed manufacturers during that time but it's all hearsay. Also, from what I read is that the Z23 and Z26 use the same compounds and the only difference is that the Z26 uses a stainless steel shims instead.
