Hi McPierson, I live in Australia and our roads are pretty bumpy. I have been thinking about the tyre change you did but was a bit worried. Now that you have had time to live with the change are you still positive? Any rubbing issues at all? Is there any improvement in ride? Thanks for your time.

I can vouch for an improvement in ride with taller tires. I’m running 18s though. Choose tires wisely. Some are harder than others. I threw some new take off ride flats on my daily because they were almost free. They rode TERRIBLE on a stock is350. I now have DWS06 on that car, and it was like transforming from a race car to a seven series (hyperbole is used here… but it was drastic). Some tires are smooth, some are medium, and some are bricks.

Hello Jwconeil, thanks for the input. I have a November 2013 build ISF which has the nice BBS 19" wheels so won't be changing them. I am just what some call an old poser so not particularly worried about loss of handling, which I feel would be negligible anyway, just want to improve ride. Also where you talk about the tyres we don't have the options you have over there but I would never use run flats as I have read enough negative comments to steer clear of them.

I get no rubbing at stock height. The ride is probably a bit better, but the odd ball size made it a challenge to find a replacement after a puncture.
