Front brake Caliper Rebuild
I have 10 track days on my F , at 90K miles on odommeter. When i clean my brakes few days ago i saw my caliper dust boots are cracked so i ordered the rebuild kit at the dealer. Im surprised the kit has no seal rings only the dust boots but in the packaging in the removal instructions they mention the Seal. I ask the parts tech at the dealer and he cant find any Seals for the rebuild. I google it and RB performance has it but seems like a generic kit from ebay.
Anyway, i would like to ask some inputs/help from the community whats the best for this caliper rebuild.
Anybody knows where to buy the oem Seal?

Lexus service manual says very clearly NEVER remove the pistons from the calipers, and they do not sell the seals. Rock Auto has seals. Not sure why Lexus is being a PITA about something as simple as caliper seals, but they are. Maybe they're hoping we will all buy new calipers when we need $5 worth of seals?

they do sell them. go to lexuspartsnow.com
pn: 04478-0W010 $27.81
you need TWO. one for each front caliper.
They're oem brembo. it's cheaper to buy them in a pack from the dealer than buying singles.

Brembo isn't allowed to sell parts for Lexus OEM calipers. It's in their contract. It's also common and why no one in the US could get internal parts for the Supra's V-160 Getrag gearbox until 2002. Toyota also refused to publish the technical manual in the US, even after they decided to sell parts. Producing OEM pieces means lots of contracts and legal crap behind the scenes. I am certain Brembo would not sell the seals unless you told them it was for a different caliper model. It might be possible to get these seals from Mercedes. They used the same front caliper we have on an earlier model than the IS F, and might have internal seals available. I never checked, but it might be worth looking. Just find the models using the same front brake pads and you'll know where to look.
