I've seen a few threads on this but nothing conclusive. I know for sure my engine is much quieter, especially cold, with fresh oil. I change my oil on interval and I do not race the car but I do get the throttle all the way down at least once every day. I am going to send my used in for analysis and check it out. I've only used synthetic 5W-30. Nothing else. We have solid lifters so I'm not sure where the noise reduction is coming from but it is definitely there. A lot less "clickety, foamy, chuggy" sound at low RPM and wider throttle. Interested in your thoughts.
