TRD start button
Got the red OEM TRD start button for those interested. Originally got the MS422-0003 but the plug is different. So ordered the MS422-0001 but got sent the MS422-0006 instead. To be honest, I like this one better.
Ac on
Brakes on prior to start
Engine running
Not compatible with IS-F
No green light but letters light up
Wrong plug connector

I have been meaning to do do this. But I always run into being afraid of breaking panel clips and such removing things to try and install it. Looks excellent thoughhhh.

no way you’ll be breaking any panel clips.. took me two minutes to swap the start button. Nothing to screw or unscrew .

TRD Start Stop Button
Looks Great..
I did this 7 years ago, but many didn't seem interested at $200 for the legitimate TRD Japan button..
(Not including unknown lower pricing sellers from eBay)
I installed MS422-00001 which has the correct 2IS design plug for 2006 to 2013 IS & 2008 to 2014 IS F
MS422-00003 works on the newer 2014 + IS , GS and RC Models from what I remember..
MS422-00006 must be a newer part number they are offering with the newer wording layout
(same vertical words as 00003 but with correct plug and indicator)
Below is my 2008 with MS422-00001. (verified now discontinued)

Well wouldn't it be easier to have screws? otherwise what is involved? the plastic covers that snap on and off with plastic clips that could possibly break lol lol. I want to do it lol.

^^^ agreed but since that top half of the panel rarely sees any movement anyway, clips are sufficient to hold it in place. The bottom other half part panel is secured by screws. As for getting the start button, just do eeet. It’s nice to press the red button

I am certain I have removed these panels at least 50 times over the years, and I've never broken a clip. I've had some of the metal ones refuse to come out and spring off under the dash, but never one broken.

^^^yeah but those are not plug and play. You have to disassemble the whole unit just to replace the button. You can easily break off some small tabs that hold the unit together then you are SOL. Although the red F LOGO would have been nice if it had the light illumination added.
