Have you done a basic health check? Either compression test or leakdown test? That #6 plug looks really bad.

Compression test on TIS, #2 @ 8% lower.
Not sure what the tolerance should be.
Will investigate fuel / injectors as motor sounds like 5 cylinders running.

results from TIS compression test. AVG is 166 , lowest is #2 at -8%

None of those numbers look like what I would expect from our compression ratio. Throttle blade was wide open for the test?

I am using the test in techstream . I believe it "calculates" the force on each cylinder. I have very little to go on, but it appears that each cylinder has similar force on them.
This is on a cold engine / car does not run for more than 5 seconds.

I saw your video re: chain tensioner, when the car turns over it sounds similar or worse. Metalic rattle plus misfire
I think the next step is to remove the valve cover and check the timing. Fingers crossed that the timing chain / tensioners / valves are ok.

Update .

Mechanic diagnosed issue as broken chain. He put a camera into the cam sensor hole and saw the cam was not moving.
We are looking for a replacement engine.

...wow! Sorry about that news....any idea how the chain would snap on this motor as you don't hear of that very often at all on the 2UR-GSE any ideas?

Not sure, potential some red flags,
1. 10 days before I had a metallic noise & a sulphur smell at high rpm - at the time I thought maybe headers - should have got it tested..
2. the same day, there was a "wheel bearing" type noise for 2-3 seconds @ 40kmph 1.5-2k rpm. - appeared to disappear when moving the steering wheel
3. at t=0 car was at idle at junction. - engine stopped with a metallic noise. sounded like something let go.

I know valve inspection was not done. maybe should have & it could picked issue up earlier.

That's so weird that your chain snapped😢😣😬........what are you going to do, replace the engine with another or just rebuild the motor?
