Default Aftermarket Lug Nuts for IS-F Wheels?

Quick question that I can't seem to find the answer to, maybe y'all can help out.

I have a 2006 IS350, but with 2011+ IS-F wheels for the summer. I've been eyeing some aftermarket lug nuts to have them stand out a bit, however the lug nuts I've been eyeing, the Project Kics R40's, keep saying that they're for aftermarket wheels only.

Being that the IS-F wheels are a "stock" wheel, would these lug nuts still work for them? Or are the R40's pretty much a no-go for the wheels? I intend to keep them regardless since an IS-F purchase is going to eventually be in the books

Thanks for the help!

The shape of aftermarket and stock lugs is different. Technically you're supposed to only use aftermarket lugs on aftermarket wheels because the seat is made for them.

Whats different is the seat.

After Market wheel lug nut.

Toyota, Lexus Lug nut

There is no technicality about it. They should not be used interchangeably. Use the correct lug nuts for your application.

You need mag seat w/washer style lugs for factory wheels. Aftermarket wheel lugs are generally acorn style and will not provide the correct seat for OEM wheels.

I went with these in black for my 2013 F wheels - I have an ultra white and am going with a white and black color theme, no more chrome. In my research, I couldn't find many options for MAG types that weren't chrome or another reputable manufacturer who's reviews didn't state any fading/tarnishing/rusting - so far, so good. I believe KYO-EI is the parent company and Project Kics is one of their many sub-brands.

There's black forged aluminum and also titanium options for our factory style lug nuts if someone really wants to fancy with them

So I must be getting old or something, but the flare and angle looks the same to me. Is it because the washer/ring is much wider on the stock nuts that they're necessary for stock wheels?

I fully trust you when you say I shouldn't use aftermarket lug nuts, but I am curious to why since the shape of the interface with the wheel hub on both of the nuts looks the same.

The angle you see on the factory lug nut isn't the "seat". The shank goes in the wheel hole and the washer is the seat. The acorn style uses the angled end as the seat. They are not the same.

see post no. 4 here...https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...t-lug-nut.html

Understood, that makes full sense. Thank you!

In that case, are there any OEM-style lug nuts that may work for the IS-F wheels?

They’re only for factory style wheels. Yeah I think anodized black is the only finish.
