Default Rodent damage to wiring harness?

I was confirming my valley plate leak with an endoscope yesterday and also found what looks like a mouse nest under the rear drivers side intake runner. Also noticed this short exposed section of a harness in that same rear drivers corner of the engine bay. The harness doesn't look chewed necessarily but definitely doesn't look OEM either, the small white bubbles look like possible heat damage? Anyone seen anything similar on their cars?

@ernisill I agree, the endoscope photos sure look like mouse nest and perhaps droppings to me. I had something similar in the past, mouse crawled up near exhaust downpipe...I suspect it happened during a camping trip.
Not sure about the harness, sorry. A couple colleagues with newer Honda's have had rodent damage to engine bay harnesses with soy-based insulation. For them the chew/bite marks were extremely apparent, as were the check engine lights. One car would not start.
