RR Racing | 160k Mile FBO ISF Dyno
Got a visit today from a customer with a beautiful 160,000 mile original engine ISF with our Performance Package, including off the shelf tune, Tuned Intake, PPE Headers, and Exhaust... figured we’d throw it on the dyno to see what she’ll do.... made 422whp/389wtq, not too shabby for a high mile ISF!

Rafi,
How much do you think is left on the table with a custom tune as opposed to the OTS tune in it's current state?

If a ISF with standard parts is behaving differently (or making less power) than it should, then the solution is not to start custom tuning it, rather you need to find the root cause for why the car is behaving differently.
Therefore time (and money) is much better spent datalogging on the street rather than “custom” tuning in a dyno. If you custom tune on a dyno, but fail to address root cause mechanical issues, the tune will not be stable, and money spent paying for custom tuning and dyno operator will simply be wasted.
This is why we are always evaluating datalogs from customers who purchase our tune and want to make sure their cars are running optimally.
