Finally got my legacy plates but still agonizing whether or not to put the front plate. Found this license plate wrap which is approved in CA and placed an order. Not my pic but it was on their website. Looks promising, better than drilling holes on my bumper.
They make license plate holders that you mount the plate to, and then it screws into your tow hook location....that might be another option for you, however I am not sure if the Communists in CA would like that.
Wow, this is the first I've seen of vinyl plates. I had no idea.
I've been chancing no plate in the front since 2014 here in IL *knocks on wood*. My guess is they're a lot more forgiving here vs CA.
Someone from Texas on here has one of the holders MisterSkiz is referring to and it looks good on that car.

Got that one. Ugly as hell. Doesn’t flow well with the bumper plus you get that freaking gap behind the plate. Wouldn’t recommend it. Here’s the link to those interested. https://licenseplatewrap.com/
Here’s one with an offset placement for those whose curious. Guess he had no choice since the bumper has a slim profile in the middle. A little bit more to the right, lining up with his drivers side headlights would have been perfect.
I ran a vinyl plate on my car. Didn't have any trouble with the cops but not sure on how legal it really is.
Right now it's still a Pilot Program here in CA and extended till 2023. It comes with a letter from DMV saying it's legal here in CA. Don't know about other states. Looks good btw on your car. 100% better than having those plates. Can't wait to get mine. Thanks for the pic.
