2012 IS F rear grinding noise when turning
Hi all,
I had this issue for quite some time . When I turn left and right I have this weird grinding noise as if something is rubbing. I have checked my brake pads, dust rotors and all sort of bushing.
Today I had my diff fluid changed to oem toyota 75w-85 and the noise intensity has increased. Possibly diff is bad but it doesn't make any noise in straight line.
I'll post a video of it.
Thanks.

Torsen is junk. They do that at some point in their lives depending on how they've been treated.

Sorry guys there was no audio in video. I have uploaded in correct format.
I have check inside out and cleaned.
I hope its not the diff . 😕 might have to remove diff cover to inspect.
This only happens when I'm turning left or right.

Does it happen first thing after leaving the car say overnight to cool down, mine made a noise turning hard left and right after it was warmed up. Got a replacement, but still suspect wrong fluid was added... what fluid was used LT or LX variant?
2010 + calls for LX variant as it’s for LSD Torsten diff
check your invoice might tell you what they put in.

Hello,
Yes I left it over night but same results. They used LT variant. Will this damage the diff ? I'm not sure if they have LX variant but can find out and get it changed.

Audio worked fine for me. This is a diff noise. I've heard using LT can cause this. Hopefully, you haven't put many kms on this and changing the oil will help.

Oh noo . I just have just put 250 km on and red lined yesterday 🙃 I'll get it changed ASAP if the LX is not found can I used some other 75w-85 brand ?

I've run Red Line GL5 gear oil in the Torsen my Supra runs for many, many years with no issues. Red Line might not be available where you are, but any good GL5 gear lube should be just fine.

Yes. Replace the Torsen with an OS Giken spool and you'll wonder why you put up with a Torsen for so long. AMHIK.
