Default 18" TRACK wheels and tires recommedation

im planing on buying a set of track wheels and tires. i loved the A052 Advan, but was wondering if i could use 8¨wheels, it seems that the enkei tunning line only comes in 8. so was wondering if i could try a 275 40 18 on a 8" 45 offset wheel for the back and the same 8" 45 offeset wheel for the front but with a 245/40 tire?

I do not track - but you can definitely do 275/35 on 18X9.5 rim. I like Wedssports - light, strong and reasonably priced and come in 18X9.5 45 offset.

^^ +1 on that. 8 inch wide of a rim on all 4? Correct me if I'm wrong, but you will be the first I know off to try this combo here. I recommend what vervish stated. 18x9.5 +45 offset with 275 35 18 tires works really well. I'm also on WedsSport SA-20R wheels and they had been very good. Although I don't track my car, it really feels good around the corners.

If you want to quickly overheat the tires, this would be a good choice. This car is far too heavy for tires that small. Maybe, and it's a big maybe, you could run 255 wide full slicks, but no tire with a grooved tread at that size will last long on this car - I know from experience the OEM fronts at 225 suffer mightily at the track and get greasy very early in a 20 minute (9 to 10 lap) session. Once they start sliding, they wear quickly and you're spending a lot of time managing understeer.

Motegi sells 18x9.5 e45 wheels that are reasonably priced. Yes, 265 or 275 all around is the way to go on stock fenders.

8 inch wide is way, way too narrow for a track wheel on this platform. It is simply too heavy. You want 18x9.5 et 45 on all 4 corners, and with 275/35/18 tires on all 4 corners. This is a time tested and heavily vetted / successful track standard for these cars. Some have ran et 38 as well.

8" width is where it starts. Ideally you'd have 9 1/2" with 275s on all four corners (see post above).

remember im in a. second world country, so getting the right stuff is complicarted, but at the end my local shop order four enkei racing RPF-1 in 9.5. that rear tires are ok at 275.35.18, but he did order 245.40 for the front.

Would you use a square setup? all corners with 275?

For track duty? Without hesitation I'd run square.

its too narrow! 9.5 wide at least for 275. Im running 295 in 10 inch wide rims but track people recommends 11 to my rear, minimizing the movement of the car in cornering.

I'll echo what others have said. I run Enkei PF01 18x9.5 +45 on 275/35 square on the track and it is a great setup. 8" wheel is way too narrow.

245/40 will create substantial understeer and you will be cooking your front tires quickly. I understand your limitations, but physics are physics. This car is too heavy to track well with that tire size. Plus, if you can get them for the rear, why not the front?
