My car started fine then stalled. The power steering light came on and will not start now and the brake pedal is stiffer than normal when pressing it to start the car. Any suggestions??? Shop cant find what's wrong with it.

Troubleshooting this kind of thing over the Internet is difficult at best.

Also, we're approaching that time of year in the northern hemisphere when weak batteries show their weakness.

Privately owned shop. Doesn't run long enough to check alternator. Won't turn over at all until the ps light goes off then it cranks with what seems to be a full battery charge and starts right up for a few seconds then dies again.

Try swapping batteries with a known good one first. These cars are sensitive to power issues, and some members have had very expensive repair bills after the battery caused a number of ECUs to get scrambled. If the battery swap does nothing, you'll need your shop to use Techstream to troubleshoot. It is a pure guessing game without it.
