Well the car had only 500kms on it before I discovered the way it was meant to be driven, now I only want to drive it above 3000rpm to get that crazy sound. I've been smelling some heat from the car or something, since I'm driving it so aggressively. Do you think that's a problem?? Since obviously I'm not driving within the perameters of the "break in" specifications??

Is this the first time you've really pushed it? I wouldn't worry about it, when I push mine hard sometimes I smell something but haven't had any problems. No worries, just enjoy the car

yeah i read somewhere that its supposively some sort of finishing or something on the brakes that need to be burned in. normally you wouldn't smell it if you drove and used your brakes normally and it will burn off that finishing or something. but if you drive it hard, it'll wear it down faster and give that smell you're referring to.

Mine got WOT in the first hour I had it. It already had 40 miles on it, so I'd bet a lot it saw WOT before I did.
The brakes will give off fumes from the adhesives when you break them in. Once they've done this and fully bedded, the smell will stop, but typically you won't smell this because you should not come to a full stop while bedding brakes.

Thanks for your responses I'm more at ease now. My 94 SAAB 900s was nice, my is350 was tight, but this isf is just amazing in not one but in every detail. I've never driven a car so powerful before or of such great handeling, and the noise it makes when it takes off!! I can't give this car enough praise, took the off ramp at high speed and continued to make a left turn with no body roll or feeling of unsafety. The electronic shifting works great (my is350 paddle shifters were pretty slow, no point in really using them), there's no hesitation (is this similar to how a double clutch works, since there's no lag between shifts?), and I hate to kick a dead horse but the alpine white leather seats are so comfortable and pretty compared to the 350 (sorry 350 people), I could easily make a long distance trip. I'm love this car, I make up excuses to go out, so I can drive it. ......end of rant.

We should meet up in the spring if we're in the same area.

I'm doing my own mods, but will get an exhaust shop I've dealt with in Burford (just below Paris) to get my exhaust installed.
I'd like to do it myself but don't have a lift, and my bad back won't thank me for crawling under the car...

I've got a good raport with Kitchener Lexus/Toyota whom seem mod-friendly.
I wouldn't be shy about approaching them if I had to.
Nice colour choice btw....
Cheers
Colin.

[QUOTE=ISFer;4135321]Hey bro....yeah I'm in Cambridge (near Kitchener)......you in T-dot or?.......
QUOTE]
Oh ya, I'm in that area for work sometimes (with the work vehicle), I live in Oakville though. If I decide to ante up for the exaust maybe you can link me with your Burford connect if you find he's talented. But I'm not sure if I'm going to get the exaust, I just came back from a quick run, and man that friggin car is too fast and too powerful...it's rediculous. On the highway in the blink of an eye I'm already at 150km..and you know at that speed what the law does if you get caught. This car is meant for a track, not the street.

Break in period per the owners manual is 631 miles or 1000 km.
