Default Recalibrating ML screen

Is there a way to calibrate the screen? I've owned my IS-F since June 2008, I got it with ~10 miles, and until now everything has worked great. Today my ML screen decided to stop responding. I drove in the morning to the office and it was OK, when I turned on the car at noon trying to get something to eat the screen didn't want to turn the A/C on. I realized that it didn't respond to any button I pressed, whether it was radio, A/C, navigation, etc. I turned the car off and on, nothing helped. I disconnected the battery for 5 minutes and didn't help either. What else can I try?

While trying to check the problem I found that in GPS, anywhere I touch the screen, it re-centers the position. Then going to INFO no matter where I touch it always go to one option. It looks like for some reason the screen needs to be re-calibrated, before going to the dealer I want to see if anyone knows something that I might missing.

Thanks.

^^No idea Juanca, I know I've had it where the screen while take a while to respond when I press anything but never has it completely not responded...it sounds like you did all the little things you could try, I'd bring it in and see what they say...good luck and keep us updated

Yeah Mike, it's very frustrating not to be able to do most of the things in the car because almost everything depends on the touchscreen. I can't call from the car's address book or speed dial, I can't play with the A/C (only auto and off from the hard buttons), I can't change radio stations/iPod folders, I can't use navigation...

I guess the touchscreen broke, in that case they would have to replace the whole unit, right? I hope I get the 2010 version... woohoo!!!

^^ You can always pull the unit out and unplug the main harness..

That will allow the nav to complete a system re-boot.

Not sure if it will help the screen issue..

There might be a fuse or 2 to pull, but I wouldn't know where those are.
That is why I mentioned the main harness unplug.

Side Question:
Do you have any modifications done such as Nav overide ??
or
Is it all stock wiring right now??

Good Luck!!

Here is the plug to unplug..

^^^ I did the Nav overide a couple of weeks after I got the car, and it's been working fine since then. Actually the whole unit works OK except the touchscreen, no matter where I touch, the screen takes it as I touched certain spot, see below:

Either the screen pooped on me, or it needs re-calibration. I'll go to the dealer today.

^^ If they see the Nav overide, they might give you a problem.....

Hopefully you know the advisor well enough.

You're right Joe, I'll take the nav back to normal after work and see if it helps, if not I'll take the car to the dealer tomorrow.

Have you tried the diagnostic mode to see what's showing up for errors?

^^^ No I haven't. How do I do it? Does it involve using the touchscreen? If so then I'm out of luck. =(

No. Hold the info button down and switch the parking lights on and off repeatedly (usually 4x) until you see the diagnostic screen. If your touchscreen is really hosed, you won't be able to do anything on this screen because it's all based on touch input. To restart the standard program, press and hold the Disp button for 5 seconds.

If you are able to provide inputs in diagnostic mode, run through the checks and post any errors you see here.

I ran the diagnostics and my touchscreen is not responding, I'll take the car for service this weekend.

Can anyone here with a nav overide run the diagnostics and confirm that all options show OK? For some reason mine shows AUDIO as CHECK. This is a screenshot of the results:

If it were possible you would just hit the Code Clr button...

Any chance you tried unplugging that main harness yet?
