Cross Country Road trip in the F

Cross Country Road trip in the F
Never thought I'd be doing this. But here I am, on the opposite coast with my F.
In February, I got a call from my brother. Our dad had just passed. We had been estranged from our father for a few years. Right away, I arranged to fly back home to Hawaii to take care of his belongings. Through our cleaning, we found that my dad was the owner of a black moonroof-deleted ISF. Turns out he had it until a racer friend of his took him for a spin. Scared the hell out of him, so he traded it in for a truck. It was funny and touching to see we had the same taste in cars.
In talking to our step mom we also discovered he had been planning a cross country road trip. It would've been in the F if he still had it but his truck was being prepped for it. Before his passing, I would never consider taking the F cross-country. Too many miles, too much risk of damage - etc, etc, etc. After his passing, life was now too short to worry about such trivial things.
I had lived in LA for 13 years and never even entertained the thought of a cross country trip. I've seen a small portion of this beautiful country and am deeply humbled by what I've seen. The diversity of sites, people and eats are unbelievable. So, here I am in Manhattan. Taking a little break before I head to my dad's birthplace, Boston, MA. Then continuing to Maine. To be frank, I couldn't think of a better car than the F to do this in.
In memory of Scott R Chatterley.

Such an awesome thread. Sorry to hear about your loss, but its very nice to see you take that cross country trip in memory of your father. Only live once, and i agree, do what you can. He's there with you in spirit.

As Joni Mitchell said "You never know what you got till it's gone", very sorry for your loss, and best wishes to you and yours.

Great pics, I confirmed on my recent trip that the F is great road car, and can cruise all day at 90MPH.
