they are nearly identical...and yes I to would prefer a solid disc or better yet a solid disc two peice rotor. On thing that I also found interesting was that the OE and the Raybestos are not R and L. The cross drilling is not directional as the vanes are straight. At least if you are going to cross drill it should be within the vane path.

Thanks for the photos FIGS, this is great information on an option for brakes.

Did you order the rotors and Hawk pads from rockauto also? Because unless I'm missing something I was only able to find front rotors.

See the link:

Yeup that was my biggest complaint when the F came out 2 years ago..!!

They spent the time and money to make FL, FR, RL & RR wheels, but then we only get 1 Front Rotor and 1 Rear Rotor used on both sides.

Which causes the drilled holes to point in different directions on each opposing side.

I guess for most people it goes un-noticed..

You're Right on with the Vanes for the rotors.

They are actually called a "Pillar Fin Design." (see below)

We know for a fact that the OEM Rotors have the "Pillar Fin Design" but what about the Raybestos Rotors? Is there a way to find out that the Raybesto Rotors have the same design vs have a much less effective "straight Vain Design"?...Darshana S...

Can you also check to see if both front and rears are available.

The rockauto link only list the fronts.

Rears were OK at the time...dreading that expense though.

I hear you, but for now at least we have an option for the front.

Regardless, thanks for the info.

I am looking for rotor replacements and the OEM rotors have increased in price.

Sewell Lexus is now selling front rotors for $569/pair instead of $399 and, upon calling around, it seems like the front OEM rotors did increase in price as of 10/01/2010. Rears OEM rotors are almost $800/pair. After shipping, front and rear OEM rotors will be almost $1300.

Pembroke Lexus in FL has rotors for $198 on their site, but they cancelled the order stating the rotors are now $300+ each, forgot the actual cost quoted, but it was not $200/each.

I noticed from these threads that the rockauto.com rotors are around $100 each. As are the ones from tirerack.com for an ISF. Anyone have any issues with these rotors? Such as vibration upon braking from any speed, cracking, warping easily after aggressive stops, etc? I read that overall "bite" is less than OEM, but other than that, any other issues over 10, 20, 30k miles?

I will be using the OEM pads and looking for a cheaper alternative for rotors. Thanks for anyone's input

I have verified the Raybestos parts to be identical pillar fin design as OEM.

Stopping power is unchanged IMO after 5K with them on and Hawk HPS pads..

I just barely made it in at the old price, locally here in SoCal...

But they said Lexus increased the rotor prices by 40% .. Really WTF
