Powdercoating wheels
Was thinking about powdercoating my stock 08 wheels in a matte black. Just wanted opinions on what it should cost so i don't get hosed and if anyone had any pics of wheels done like this. Sorry if this has been in a previous thread

I'm in the process of having my 08' OEM wheels powdercoated black so will post up some pics for you when they're done. Mine will be gloss black powdercoat with the exception of the "samurai sword" portion of the wheels being polished like the Canadian/Neiman Marcus spec wheels.

these r just some shots from an ipod touch....not the greatest quality pics and not the cleanest car in these shots .....i was just pumped that the wheels and calipers were done, and had to take some pics. To answer your question about the cost, around here its $120 or $125 per wheel. I looked around a few places, however there is one place that does by far the most work. The name is Wheel Fix It. They repair scratched rims and/or do your rims in multiple color options. I believe most car dealerships on the island use wheel fix it when their customers need curbed rims to be fixed. It's a one day service, and Wheel Fix It picks it up from the dealerships and drops them off the next day.(or in two days depending on when the order is placed/when the rims r picked up).
Anyways, the details on that company are prob irrelevant to u because you aren't on long island. But $120 or $125 is standard around here.
Good luck, and I thought about matte black but went with gloss black because my car is black(not matte). So I didn't want the contrast. If I had any other color ISF I think the matte would look better than with a black ISF.

It looks great! The yellow calipers is a nice touch. I had to do a double take because of the second and third pics because it almost looked like the F fender emblem was missing. Nice stealth look!

I actually did the calipers myself. I jacked up each wheel one by one, covered the rotor, and used an engine enamel paint (spray) on the calipers. I used about three coats per caliper. The place I got the sray from had caliper paint and engine enamel paint.(both in spray cans) The only reason why I went with the engine enamel was because I liked the color of the yellow a little better.
