///WALD Trunk Spoiler Installed **hybrid emblem**
Hey guys,
After a few months of waiting, I've finally got around to installing a Wald trunk spoiler.
Removal of the OEM lip was a HUGE pain. 2 outside (forgot the size, 8mm possibly) nuts to unscrew, and 5 plastic pins holding in the interior of the spoiler.
Used a kitchen bread knife (yes, very carefully, lol) to cut off the doublesided tape, which was practically a part of the trunk itself, and barely popped the plastic protrusions out.
When the oem spoiler was off, alcohol prepped the trunk, and melted off the plastic rivet holders with a certain lighter and heat gun.
I sanded down the inside of the painted Wald lip (painted at an Infiniti dealer) and applied 3M adhesive promoter which essentially melted into the FRP material of the spoiler.
I then applied sections of the 3M VHB tape onto the spoiler.
fitment was 95% accurate, as the sides didn't exactly line up (genuine Wald).
2 man job, I was able to easily align the spoiler on the sides.
I have one bad quality night pic right now, so I will post more pics later regarding the removal/install/spoiler itself.
I will also post materials used for this install (strongest 3M tape)
Lastly, also installed a roof spoiler alongside with the Wald
and yes, that's a Hybrid emblem (i think im the first hybrid ISF on the forum). I love the blue trim in it, matches the USB flawlessly
Spoiler will still be buffed and needs to settle in fully, the cold doesn't help!

technically there was an option to align it with the bottom of the trunk, but the removal of the oem lip left residue that stripped some of the paint off the trunk :/
and thanks guys.

looks good, but i would of line the spoiler the way it should be and then use some touch up paint to fix the paint.. with the bottom not being line up, it look just like the rep i installed the other day on my buddy IS.

The paint damage was too extensive to be touched up.
It's okay, still looks great in person, of course :P
I can have it molded later on anyway, because I plan on keeping it on the car, period.
thanks for the constructive criticism though ^^

here's lexuswtf's Wald spoiler fitment:
it's genuine, and there's a gap, a bit more than mine
just depends on the install.
maybe his whole trunk got stripped from lexus' devil tape!

Haha, cool. Actually, I was the first hybrid ISF.... I rock a hybrid emblem too on my USB.....but it's in front with my carbon grille. Yes the blue is a near perfect match on the emblem!!!
