One Touch 3 Blink/Flash Turn Signals

One Touch 3 Blink/Flash Turn Signals
I know a few newer Toyota's (Camry / RAV4) have this feature, of tapping or touching the turn signal stalk one time slightly and it would cause the turn signal to blink/flash 3x = 3 times
Where is our turn signal relay / module located exactly and does anyone have a Toyota/Lexus with this feature that can share the part number of the flasher relay?
I would like to see if the part can be interchangeable, so our cars can have this feature as well

bmw's do this and i love it
but for me since I did the 2011 headlight conversion, one second of my turn signal gives me x3 the amount of flashes compared to the original.

If it's configurable at the dealer, it's part of the BEAN ECU software and Techstream can modify it. It's not the flasher module at all.
If you want to change the module, there are aftermarket flasher modules capable of delivering this feature.

I have no experience with any of this stuff, but thought it might be helpful. Doing this does not interest me personally. I am used to the way they work now and pretty stuck in my ways. It also appears these devices are compatible with LED signals so you can replace your turn signal bulbs with LEDs and not get hyperblink.

I appreciate the Link, I will look more further into it... I have been trying to find where our flasher relay is located as well?
Also, can anyone get the part number for the flasher relay on the newer camry and/or rav4 with the 3-blink flashers?

The part number is the same as ours. You're missing the point. It's software configurable on the new models only. The current Toyota/Lexus implementation has nothing to do with the flasher relay and everything to do with the software in the BEAN ECU. Yes, it is not configurable in our BEAN ECU as it was not part of the feature set. But, it could be flashed into the BEAN ECU by someone familiar with hacking this ECU. In a previous thread in the 2IS forum, there was a post by a guy claiming he knows someone in Russia who has hacked the BEAN ECU to change a number of settings. It's hex level modification of the code, but it is possible.
Something really important to keep in mind about Toyota's product line - they have been in a 10+ year mission to reduce parts count on all vehicles. This is one of the reasons why we do not have adjustable alignment - it increases the parts count per vehicle which increases the parts inventory, and Toyota is calling this effort essential to managing spare parts costs. So, the flasher is going to be unchanged from any of the other models, and the update(s) are done to the BEAN ECU. Most of the controls are networked to this ECU, so they can make simple software changes and implement new features without increasing parts count for the individual models.

Ah ok, I understand.
That sucks, well the TapTurn is sounding to be the best option but is very expensive... I wonder if there has been other companies with the same product at a cheaper price point or if there is a way to modify our existing flasher relay to do the 3 blinks on one touch?

ME:
I see Lexus/Toyota listed in the description for the blinker relay on your main page but there is no listing in the parts page.
Are you still offering the Lexus version? If so, what is the part number?
WEP:
Sorry, we no longer manufacture that item. I'll make sure it is removed
from the web site. Sorry for the confusion.

I sent an email to Scott @ AutoWindow (TapTurn)
His Reply:
I suspect Tapturn will not work properly on your car, sadly.
Recently found difficulty with '12 IS 250, that a change in signal stalk wiring was made that prevents L/R signal inputs from reaching the flasher while the ign is off. So I removed Latest generation of IS from my supported vehicles list. May have to do same with the F.
There very well could be a one wire fix to allow tapturn to work in these vehicles, but I would need to see some schematics and possibly inspect a turn stalk switch out of the car.

Sounds like he doesn't understand how these work either. The turn stalk switch only sends a multiplexed command over the BEAN to the BEAN ECU telling it to run the flasher.
