Flipside909, do you know if using the ventilated seats will activate the A/C compressor?
Nope. It's just a fan.

I see. But when I sat in the GS430, it sure felt cool. I guess I will have to wait and see. Thanks Flipside!

That's correct, it felt cool because the constant airstream cools down the leather to temps lower than the ambient cabin temp. The New IS' ventilated seats work quite well. I mentioned that in my write up when we got to spend time with both the IS250awd and IS350.

I just saw this on the my.is website.. I wanted to build a Bimmer 325i similar to how I would get a IS250 w/ auto, Nav+ML, LL Luxury Package. Here's what I found $42,430! :

The IS for me would come out to $39,340. The horsepower difference isn't that great, but I think the Lexus still wins in this one! And after pricing out the A4 and MB 230, I find everything as it should be!

Don't forget the 4 years of free maintenance on the BMW. I'm just mentioning it because it seems everyone forgets that. Works out to be about $2,500-$3,000k on a ~$40k sports-lux over 4 years, in my experience. And while the hp difference isn't that great, the actual power is. I agree, though - Lexus wanted the IS250 to be a couple grand less then the equivilant BMW, and they've done that.

How is is that for the IS 350, the NAV/ML package is $3,990 but when the two options are added individually the total only comes out to $3,490 (ML is $940 and NAV is $2,550)?

If anything, the package cost should be less than the individual options added together.

Oh, I did forget about the maintenance. But isn't it when THEY tell you it's due? I don't like pushing the limits of my maintenance, I kind of like to do things early before it gets too bad. Example, I don't want my oil to be the color of my shoe before the car says it needs changing. I was looking, and noticed that things like coolant flush, brake fluid and transmission fluid changes aren't included (those can be pricey), but I could be completely wrong, I've never owned a Bimmer.. but having that maint. service does help!

This has been explained by Ratman009.

I don't know if it's the same for every dealership, but mine had a schedule, and it seemed pretty conservative (3 months, 4500km on the oil) - and you're right, differential fluid, tranny fluid, etc.. aren't included. I took my car in before the "due" date a few times and they did the oil etc.. without a hassle. Like I said, it's added up to ~$2,200 in 3.5 years. Anyway ya, just something to think about.

That's actually one thing that kind of bothers me about my other car. We paid $450 for lifetime oil changes whenever we want them when we bought it, but the other scheduled maintenance has been expensive. Not sure how Lexus scheduled maintenance costs break down.

Will it come with sport suspension too? I'm not sure how 18'' wheels will be without 1/2 inch drop by sport suspension.
