I just got my is250 and im also trying to hard wire my v1. but i was wondering, is it recommend to use the harness they gave you with the extra fuse on it? Is it ok to run it on the rear view mirror without the extra fuse that its needs?

i used the stealth cord then connected to the rear view mirror wire harness.
no other extra fuse needed.

The Escort Solo S2 is the best cordless one out there, but they tend to shut themselves off to preserve battery life.
Beltronics STi Driver is right next to Valentine 1.. even a little better it has a stealth option which makes it undetectable by police it also detects all forms of bands from above and in a 360 degree radius around the vehicle. It has a GPS locator letting you know 3 miles in advance where they are trying to detect you from, AND it remembers to automatically disregard false alarms such as the ka and x bands emitted from shopping marts doors, etc.

Default 2010 Mirror

For those of you who have had your mirrors replaced with the new 2010 design. You have discovered the harness is different. I tested the voltage and tapped directly into the harness for my V1. Pictures included.

Another interesting thing to note, the mirror is adjustable in height at the base. Not just up and down / side to side.

ive had my V1 installed this way for almost 4 years now, without any issues. However, recently, my K-Band has been going CRAZY...it never used to go off when i would enter a mall, etc...but recently, i have 2-4 K-Band alerts when just driving on the street (and/or in stripmalls near electronic doors). The reason im concerned, is this has just started happening...it was fine for all these years. does anyone have any suggestions on this?

Hey TxAdamFitz, I just tried this today going by your pictures. The switched power is the wire that is white with the black stripe correct? And black is ground?

I just tried this and it isn't working and I can't for life of me figure it out. I also have a V1.

I started my own thread here:

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

To clear up any confusion, using the actual wires from an RJ11 cable.

Yellow = Mute (not used)
Green = 12V (goes to black)
Red = Ground (goes to white with tracer)
Black = Data (not used)

So basically from the 2010 Mirror Harness, ie: (new mirror replacement)

The BLACK wire is POSITIVE
The WHITE with TRACER is NEGATIVE

Always test your connections prior to hooking anything up.

If anybody was still wondering about setting up a concealed display, I've posted pictures of my setup here.

The mirror is already on a fuse and I didn't feel like running the wires all over just to hide the hardwire box.

Solder your connections, be sure to tape off the wires properly, and you won't have any issues.

so i hardwired my V1 to my rear view mirror but i have a problem wondering if any could help me out. in addition to the V1 i also purchase an extra mute wire that allow you mount it anywhere and mute the radar without reaching up and hitting the mute button on the radar. I think this button is a really good idea since it can be place somewhere comfortable and plus i dont have to take my eyes of to road to hit the mute button on the radar. so does anyone know if i can still use this wire when i have my V1 hardwired to the mirror and how. thanks

here's a link to the wire i was talking about

Thanks to all for your great suggestions. Instructions for reverse Escort wiring worked perfectly. Did the solder-less hardwire to the mirror and purchased the 3/4 inch mount from Mike Peronek.

I placed a small plastic sticky bumper on the Escort to prevent vibration during motion and it works great.

If I use a add a circuit like Isuxel did, and plug in the same place he did also. Is it ok to put a 10 amp fuse on slot B for the radar detector and 10 at the bottom for slot A?
