Default HELP : Staggered vs Non-Staggered?

Hey everyone

This is probably a stupid question, but what's the benefits for a staggered or a non-staggered set up? I'd been driving a Celica for the past 7 years and when I bought my rims for it I just picked the ones I liked the most and didn't worry about anything else.

I've only got 16"s on my IS250 right now, and I'm lookin into getting some 18"s for it, but the ones I want only come in 18x7.5. They don't offer it in a staggered setup.

Does it matter to get a staggered setup or not? The guy I was talkin to where I'm lookin at gettin my rims said that main difference is for aesthetics, and that at least with going for a non-staggered setup I could rotate my tires.

More contact to the pavement on the rear (and since these cars are RWD that should mean a better take off). If youre looking to upgrade those rims in selling mine on ebay, check em out here.

If you drive conservatively, then I believe the best solution would be to have a non-staggered setup with the same size tires all around. It might actually improve the car's handling a bit since the staggered setup increases understeer. It would also help in the rain to have narrower tires all around.

how much is it going to cost you to ship those rims? i bought some new shoes last week and hopefully getting them this week so i'll need to sell...i'll need to get those TPMS sensors out though, crap, and pay to have the tires mounted and balanced back on

Well I know some one who owns a shipping company and through them I can ship all four for 66 bucks via FedEX Ground. Yea when I got my new rims I just had Lexus do it. I didnt want to deal with those TPMS things.

The TPMS sensors are not hard to move. Whoever mounts and balances the tires can move the sensors over in seconds.

well i'm getting my new 19" rims and tires shipped mounted and balanced...so what i need to do is take the TPMS out of my stock 18s and use the wheelbarrow or cylinder trick...after that I either just sell the rims by themselves and dispose of the tires (they only have about 10,000 miles left) or have them mounted back on the tire...my new rims are TPMS compatible otherwise i would put them in there
