Curt came out with a trailer hitch for the ISx50 a couple of months ago ... same hitch fits the current GS.
I used roof top bike racks for over 20 years before switching to a hitch mounted bike rack when I bought my first Lexus in 1990. A hitch mounted bike rack is pure bliss compared to one on the roof ... no noise, no damage to the car, easy loading, can install or remove the bike rack in seconds, can easily lock both the bike rack and the bikes to the hitch.
Etrailer is currently selling the IS/GS hitch for $133.95: http://www.etrailer.com/pc-H~11372.h...eid=2009301154
Attached is a photo of the IS/GS hitch. It's pretty easy to install. One person can do it but it's easier if you have a helper. Simple hitch bike racks cost less than $100 but the skys the limit ... I've seen some hitch bike racks for $300+. My hitch bike rack cost less than $50 in 1990.

I haven't tried but I dont think I can use hitch on my IS, because it lowered about 1 finger gap from the fenders.

Are you saying, some guys are buying bike racks (don't even own or ride a bike) just for the looks? If anything it destroys the look of a luxury car.

If you are getting a rack I would go with thule. Get the rapid aero bars if you can. They look good and won't take away from the car too much. Here's a pic of the plan square bars compared to the rapid aero bars.

I don't think it matters what others think. If you need to transport a bike, then do what you need to do. It's like wearing a brace. You do it to help your cause at the time. When it's no longer needed, you take it off and life goes on.
FWIW, I've successfully transported my mountain bike in my trunk several times. It requires taking off both wheels, but with quick releases, it only takes a few minutes. Just be sure to carry some papertowels for grabbing the greasy chain and something to clean your hands with so you don't grime up the steering wheel after loading.

check out www.yakima.com, but i think each pair of Q-clips were $30 each, the bars are $70, the q-towers are $160 for 4, and the fairing is $70. That gets you the basic setup like you see on my car, the actual bike rack goes on top of the bars, they range anywhere from $99 to $180. They also have every kind of water/snow/camping/accessory think you can think of that attaches to the bars. Oh, and the pirate sticker was $4, hahah
