My observation on 20's vs 19's & when 20's can be pulled off, and when they can't:
After seeing so many cars here on CL, some on 20's some on 19's... I've made this simple observation... all just my opinion of course.
19's look great just about whatever you have on your IS.
20's look straight baller, but only when you have a kit like a Vertex or INGS... or something that really hangs down low. 20's look a little silly (too big for the car) without a kit like the Vertex/Ings...
I think its because you can't drop you car as much when on 20's and looks like your riding high a bit. Slap on a kit though, ala Vertex and bam, baller and 20's can be pulled off.
Here's some pics for example of 20's being pulled off the right way (notice Vertex kit):
And here are some pics of when I think 20's look too big for the IS:
The only thing I see different on these cars is the Vertex kit. Somehow it makes or breaks 20's. Even though this above car is pretty darn slammed for 20's... they just still don't look right. Too big for the car for some reason, and I've come to the conclusion that the reason is it doens't have the Vertex kit.
Anyone agree, disagree? Thoughts?

I can see your point....The kits do give the IS a more "big" body look. Like how the the GS pulls off 20" easily with a mild kit or a nice Lip with a proper drop.

Literally, the only difference between my car and that is the Vertex kit. We have the same coils, same offsets, same tire sizes, even the damn roof spoiler is the same.

Pop Quiz: Who ended up buying the kit off the guy in the first pictures?

Disagree. 20's can look good with and without kit, given the right drop. IMO 20's are all about a look, certainly not about maintaining Lexus ride and handling (not to mention rubbing).
