My bro got a tailight ticket for having them blacked out so I decided to switch my 09 lights with his 08 lights. The side parts fit perfectly but the middles don't. The housing is just a little different. I think you might have to shave this small area for it to fit.

The lining in your trunk is different so you cant just put the 09 taillights on without doing some extra work. We ended up calling up my other friend to switch taillights with him since my 09's wouldn't fit.

this is what I got from the parts manager at my local Lexus service center
"The taillight sockets and vehicle wiring harness are different from 2006 to 2009 and there are no fitting kits to retrofit the two therefore we do not recommend trying this."

It is a direct swap if you do it with the harness. There is one thing you have to modify when putting 09-10 tails into 06-08s

-I believe it was this part, if its not you'll definitely see it when you try to do it. All you need to do is bend it in with a hammer or cut it off with a dremel.

Looking on ebay or a scrap yard for these tails won't cut it. Without the harness to covert the lighting pattern youre screwed. So far Sewell is the only place that includes this adaptive harness with the tail lights. But spending $800 for them is rediculous. I'm hoping an aftermarket company will make these soon.
