The guy who built it is local to me and a VERY well known lexus/toyota tuner... Lance from Toyomoto's wifes car haha! Car had less than 1k miles when it went under the knife haha

Seen it in person and its an insane machine!

If only Lexus offered a 2JZ as a factory-installed option...

the 2JZ was dropped in all Lexus/Toyota vehicles in the last few years for several pretty reasonable business reasons (mileage and emissions standards among them)

That said, this is a really nice looking swap, and he did manage to get most of the stuff on the car working.

(though it helped he started with the "simplest" 2IS, no VDIM, no body ecu for the memory seats and such, no nav, no park assist, etc...)

Saw the title thread and immediately thought "I'm not holding my breath, I'll believe it when I see it"

I had no idea the project was actually...finished. Great job.

Then again, all I've seen so far is a video of the car starting up. That's still a pretty small step, albeit a necessary step nonetheless.

I wouldn't get too excited until I see the car in action on the road and/or dyno numbers.
