Exclamation Scratched IS250 Navigation Screen

So, my little sister decided to do me a favor and clean the inside of my car. She used a terry cloth to clean the navi screen and there is one deep scratch on it and a few minor ones, the minor ones don't matter but the deep one is very irritating.

Is there anyway to replace it? Or will my dealership cover it (Still under warranty) OR is there just a way to fix it?

Any help or advice would be appriciated, Thanks!

Tough call. Don't think the LED screen is replacable unless the whole unit is changed. If this is the case, you're going to spend about 4K+ not including the labor to replace the whole thing.

Whatever you do, one thing's for sure - it won't be covered by warranty. It's clearly not a design or manufacturing defect, or a problem with the part itself - it's a wear and tear item, which is never covered by warranty.

I'm assuming a brand new one from Lexus. Not counting the ones from eBay or junkyards - I'm not too keen about the conditions of the screens from there are scratch free.

Lets say one finds a screen, it maybe a PITA to take out everything just to get to the screen piece itself.

I have done this in several cars changing damaged screens and its not a problem, doesnt take much time, you just need to find good deal on screen thats all.

Just thought of idea. Now you can get a cut an exact fit screen protector (ie. 3M Natural View screen protector, which I have on my NAV) and put it on that new one before putting it in the NAV system. This way, you have a perfect fit and no cut short or long issues (putting it on after the fact) since it will cover the whole screen before putting it in the frame so it will look seemless.

i think the ebay screen is a great deal. Good find HERO.

and also i think this thread could help you out for how to replace it. its for a frozen screen fix DIY but it has the step by step to get to the actual screen inside the housing.

check this link Frozen screen fix DIY

good luck, this is what i would do if i was in your shoes, it would bug me more than anything in the world

I had some scratches and used a screen protector overtop of them...it hid them all! I think lextasy has them.
