Anyone here with a Optima Red-Top battery?
Hey guys,
Just picked one up, and the dealership is helping me install it, but the red top battery is smaller than the OEM battery, so the tie down rod doesn't fit. Anyone here have suggestions on what I can do? Right now I will just be driving slowly on it, so the battery doesn't move out of place. Thanks guys!

The battery should come with a plastic piece that is used to raise it to the proper height. Usually this is on the top of the battery when you buy it and it snaps off so you can use it. I have the yellow top in my 4runner and the bracket worked perfectly.

^ x 2. I have a red top, and using the height adapter bracket which came on top of the battery prior to installation, it fits quite well. I've heard of some people choosing not to put the shroud around the battery back after replacing it with a red top, but I put mine back on there for an added measure. It took a little work to get everything in place but with some patience, it all went in securely.

Hi is250jz ,
I found this thread and thought I would drop in.
A group 25 is what I show as a direct fit for your car. Is that the battery you bought? Have you gotten the proper hold down piece yet? If not, please post here, pm or email me at optimabill1@gmail.com and I will see what I can do to hook you up.
Thanks,

That's what that thing is, glad I didn't toss it in the trash. Thanks!
