Since you're right next-door in NC, I thought I'd pass along the tip that the use of a detector is illegal in adjacent VA....though you may have one in your car if it is turned off. The state troopers have detector-detectors.....and can tell when you are using one. If so, they have the right to stop and search....confirmed by the courts. Penalties include a fine and/or impoundment of the device. No warnings. No excuses.
Yeah I use it when I go to VA , but it's the kind that's not detectable by their detectors and hidden well. I can also take it down quickly. Been using it for 3+ years. Love driving in VA actually because all the cops just sit around with their detectors on. Can spot them a mile away lol.
The auto dimming mirror is a gentex....google gentex wire harness pin out....its the ten pin...if u look hard at it, you can see the numbers at each corner...
It has 3 wires coming out of it. one const, one ground, one is ign.

I followed that link, I had posted earlier and it matched with my wire harness. Everything is like it needs to be!
ya, just recently on my friends 2nd gen mirror hardwire we grabbed power from that exact spot....figured the 3rd gen would be similar but i notice the 3rd gen is250/350 have gentex mirrors.
Every car we own has a gentex homelink/compass type mirror and im very familar with their pin outs...etc..
ill be installing a radar on our 2014 IS250 this week.

This picture shows how to slide down the wire harness cover:

I took more pictures to help others along,
the mirror is a GENTEX brand mirror - i would say its the same as a GENTEX model 313 however its made specifically for Lexus in that the wiring is routed internal the mounting and is completely unseen. I say Gentex 313 because of its features and typical 313 ten pin harness that is identical to other gentex 313 mirrors. from the pics below, you can see the 313 BLACK female harness built into the mirror mount cover.
So, after sliding down the cover like the picture quoted above, i simply just used a T20 torx bit and unscrewed the mirror from the mount.
This allowed me to slide up the entire assembly and off comes the mirror. use a flat screw driver and release the tab on the harness and whats left hanging is the car side white harness with the color wires quoted above:
Car side harness hanging from headliner after mirror removed:
This is the mirror end, you can see where the white harness was connected to the BLACK female harness of the gentex (typical gentex 10 pin female) end:
Next, this is a good picture showing the colors dojoman listed on the car side harness:
Hope this helps some further to not be afraid to remove it. its very very simple. doesnt take any strong pulling or pushing and is very easy for anyone to do in 30 minutes or so.
In case of dropping a tool, etc - I would say lay a towel over your dash, protect your nav screen, etc...(typical precautions when doing a project).
im sure there is, but dont know the wiring diagram to know what colors you need to tap into. My detector is mounted just above the center speaker grille, and the escort smart code silence button is mounted behind my wiper stalk, all wires are hidden
Can you please upload a picture of your final set up?
I'm trying to decide on mine,
I installed mine two weeks ago, I used the mirror tap cord (micro size, 1 foot). You don't need to take off the mirror, only slide the mirror cover down so it exposes the power harness.
I attached mine with the blendmount and then wired it with a mirrortap cord. I have links below. When you purchase either product you have to tell them which radar detector you have and which car, and they will send you the correct one. And no, you don't need to take the mirror off. Above the mirror there is a rectangular housing for the wires. You need to slide that down towards the mirror and then you can pull it right off.
