tl;dr for lc500 - during first few hundred miles, don't drive it like you stole it, or baby it, just do mixed driving, varying speed, occasional higher rpm sprints. very reasonable.

Also, do not rev up beyond 2/3 of the max rpm for the initial 600 miles per my Audi manual.

Interestingly, Porsche dealer mentioned do not rev up pass 4000 rpm for the initial several hundred miles.

Did a rough math, seems they are talking the same 2/3 range or 4000 rpm thing.

So I just baby on them in the morning when oil temp is lower than 150 F, never pass 2500 rpm sort of….. when oil is warmer, I pressed on gas on purpose to rev up to like 3500 - 4000 from time to time. This is for the first 1000 miles.

BTW, doing this could be a pain, as they are too easy to be over 80-90 MPH if I kept on 4000 rpm a little longer…..

Almost hit one year anniversary for one of them, less than 5000 miles. I smile every time driving.

They are my first premium cars after hard working for almost 10 years after school. Being through this, made me determined to buy new cars only for nice cars. I am glad I made the decision to buy new and I know how my babies were treated.

So basically, everything these guys and the other reviewers do to the cars they drive. Don't do those.

I go by what the manufacture recommends period, as their engineers certainly know far more/better than we do on what procedures helps prevent warranty repairs (which they do not want), and their break in schedule certainly would reflect that; eos.

Agree - follow the advise of those who designed and built the car. Page 139 of the manual states to take is easy for the first 621 miles (1,000 km). My previous Porsche 911 needed triple to time to break-in so this is a piece of cake.
