Default What did you do to your LC today ?

Thanks to a fellow forum member FR680 who recommended these ramps (only 150 bucks !!)

I was finally able to get enough room to access the drain plug and change my own oil. Waiting for every last drop of the precious fluid to drain out is very satisfying. Knowing you did the job right and without any shortcuts is a great feeling.

Also for those who are interested. It took ~7.5quarts to get it right between the middle on the dipstick. I think the dealership specifications calls for 8.6 quarts and that’s why it’s always being overfilled.

Toyota OEM oil filter part number: 04152-51010 $13.44 taxes included
2 (5L) jugs of Castro GTX 5w30 86 dollars at costco
= roughly 100 dollars Canadian. Dealer wants 300 bucks Canadian for this same job and i guarantee they don't take the time to properly drain every last drop out of the engine like we would do.

What's the height of the ramps? Do you have a link? No problems with rubbing/scraping?

Badhobz, congrats on doing an oil change and showing how... was any of it challenging (like swapping out the filter)?

It seems that traditional ramps raise the car by about 6” while most low profile ramps only do half of that. Is 3” sufficient for most tasks?

not at all. the previously returned low profile ones were 4.5

this rise is barely enough to squeeze in underneath as the oil drain plug is basically where the A pillar starts.
It’s really really back there.

super easy. Barely an inconvenience.

One 10mm socket (for the bolts that hold the metal pan in place covering the drain plug and oil filter), one 14mm socket (drain plug) and a oil filter housing adapter for Lexus / Toyota oil filters. And a torque wrench

https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/motomaster-cap-wrench-for-toyota-lexus-6-cut-64-mm-0283579p.html

it took about 30 minutes to drain every last drop out of the engine.

I forgot to add that i went to the dealership to inquire about a few things when i was picking up my oil filter.

the new 10 spoke 21' inch OEM wheels for the LC500 are ~5000 canadian a piece!!!
the red convertible top is... 43,000 dollars canadian. im like are you sure? thats not 4300? hes like nope. 43,000 dollars. Its the entire roof. apparently they wont sell just the cloth.

So basically my idea of having a red on red w/ a red top is dead. Maybe i can dye the convertible top later on but as of right now im just gonna leave it alone. Same with the OEM wheels.

8.27 in

just barely enough space to work on her. Anything less than 8 inches is gonna be a really tight squeeze.
