Registration tax in Denmark and Finland were much worse in the 80's.

I feel like the hybrid in these cars mainly appeals to a person who wants a hybrid first, and a beautiful / exceptional car second. Obviously there are many choices that satisfy the first, but far fewer that also satisfy the second.
Exactly my thought. I want a hybrid first and the LC design, build/material quality is next. I haven't got one yet, waiting for my son to take over my ES350 in a couples of years once he is off to college. I have 3 in mind now, 2-3 YO CPO LC500h, 1-2 YO CPO Porsche Taycan or a 2-3YO low mileage Porsche 911 (992).

A buddy of mine has a 2019 LC500 and he told me if he has to do it again, he would go with the hybrid. The V8 is fun for about 6 months or so, but daily driving that V8 is a little overkill (SF Bay Area gas price here doesn't help).

How did you come-up with your forum name?

I have 3 928's - 2 S4's and a GT. Great cars when properly maintained.

I really like the hips on the GTS, and LOVE the hips on the LC500.

LOL - good eye!

I'm an amateur too, I play electric guitar, and practice 3-hours a day, everyday, and have been doing that for almost 20 years now. I practice/play the instrumentals of Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan, and have many vintage amps, one of which is a 1967 Fender Pro Reverb with JBL K120's. I also service/repair those old tube amps from Fender, Marshall, Vox, etc. using period-correct parts if possible. It's all a hobby for me, and love doing it.

BTW, I have a friend who uses Logic, and he's always learning something new it's so powerful and complicated.
Sorry OP for the thread hijack, your car is beautiful!

Back in 2003 I got manual GTS eternity project from Germany which had blown engine. Plan was and still is to build 6.4L stroker engine for it. About 15 years ago got automatic GTS also from Germany and also with blown engine. Had it for few years and build normal engine for it. Friend really really wanted to get it because of those hips. He has four 928 that I also build engines and gearboxes for. Year ago has a choice to make what other hobby car to get. Due to local registration tax situation 25 year old 550 Maranello, early Aston DB9 and early LC500h were nearly equal choices cost wise. Wasn't too difficult to select 550 at the time. Currently doing full service on it. Eventually hope to also get LC and therefore hang around here to learn as much of them as possible. 1st choice is convertible but CO2 emission and value based taxes make it very expensive for next 15-20 years unless something changes. Early hybrid will likely be $60k to buy from EU and register in about 5 years. At the moment there are 8 or 9 LC's in Finland, all hybrids. Now its $90k for 2017 50k driven hybrid or $150k for new ordered from dealer.

I see more Ferraris, Mclarens, Lambos, Porsches and Bentleys here in the Silicon Valley than a LC. Don’t get me started on Teslas, every parking lot I swear there are at least a dozen white Teslas.
