I feel like the hybrid in these cars mainly appeals to a person who wants a hybrid first, and a beautiful / exceptional car second. Obviously there are many choices that satisfy the first, but far fewer that also satisfy the second.

Now in France because of taxes on the V8 you have to add a 50 000€ tax on top of the car price tag. Needless to say that buying a new LC500 would be a non sense at a total of 180 000€ !

Every EU country has their own rules. Those countries which collect registration tax base it mostly on CO2 emissions. Basically how many mpg car uses on mixed use. Some also use tax free price as part of calculation. Germany, Sweden and few other have no registration tax at all. They have VAT and that also varies from 15 to 25% of final price.
Of those that collect registration tax Denmark is worst by far. Finland and Netherlands are next and Spain, Portugal etc are slightly less greedy. Due to tax V8 price goes so much higher than Hybrid that local distributors do not even bother to list V8 prices as no one would buy them. In Finland price difference between coupe models would be $60-70k. In Denmark it could be over $100k. This on car where base Hybrid is $150k in Finland and possibly over $200k in Denmark. New cabrio is close to $200k in Netherlands when Hybrid is $130k I think. Also nearly $10/gal fuel do not help either. Its no wonder LC isn't selling.
Possible future electric model is another thing. Its going to be expensive in EU like everything but registration tax will be $0 in most countries. If LC were electric today and tax free price were same as V8 and Hybrid fully taxed list price for electric model would be $40k cheaper in Finland for example.
