Just picked up a 2018 L/Certified LC500 and am noticing issues with it that I didn't really get to appreciate during the test drive. I am wondering if this is normal for 2018?

When in Automatic or (Manual for that matter) the down shifts are very noticeable. It's like driving a manual where there is that jerk forward in your seat feel as the clutch re-engages and pushes the engine RPMs up. This makes no sense to me in an automatic. It doesn't seem to matter what mode it is in.

The other issue is a rattling coming from the rear of the cabin, the window shelf behind the rear seat. It comes and goes. Usually when the road gets rough. I thought these cars were made with a ton of glue to stop that.

Finally the brakes squeal like crazy. I figured brake dust, so tried brake cleaner, but it just came back within 30 mins. I am going to swap out the metallic brake pads with the carbon ceramic that comes on the 2020+ newer models and hope that fixes it.

I really love this car but this transmission shifting is getting annoying.

Lurching is the word I was looking for. Not "jerking forward".

Cool. Thanks. Hopefully this will be covered under the L/Certified warranty even though it only mentions Basic warranty.

I love the downshifts on this car. Sounds and feels badass to me. I feel that the transmission is one of the highlights of the car. When you take it in for service, have them check it out to see if they find an issue.
