How "bad" is the 2018 LC 500?
#16
Just picked up a 2018 L/Certified LC500 and am noticing issues with it that I didn't really get to appreciate during the test drive. I am wondering if this is normal for 2018?
When in Automatic or (Manual for that matter) the down shifts are very noticeable. It's like driving a manual where there is that jerk forward in your seat feel as the clutch re-engages and pushes the engine RPMs up. This makes no sense to me in an automatic. It doesn't seem to matter what mode it is in.
The other issue is a rattling coming from the rear of the cabin, the window shelf behind the rear seat. It comes and goes. Usually when the road gets rough. I thought these cars were made with a ton of glue to stop that.
Finally the brakes squeal like crazy. I figured brake dust, so tried brake cleaner, but it just came back within 30 mins. I am going to swap out the metallic brake pads with the carbon ceramic that comes on the 2020+ newer models and hope that fixes it.
I really love this car but this transmission shifting is getting annoying.
