2024 Bespoke Ordering process
#32
It’s hilarious how this has been beaten to death here. Lexus’ press release specifically calls out Bespoke models as being base on the Sport package. The Bespoke has performance brakes, sport seats by default, and the Yamaha damper (as verified by my own hands and eyes last night). So three out of the four items are verifiable and the fourth would naturally be there as that’s what they’ve previously released to the public.
Again, this only applies to USA models and USA press releases from the introduction of the Bespoke model.
NO ONE is able to “order” the Torsen on the Bespoke because, just as my previous dealer verified, it’s already INCLUDED.
As for the Inspiration having it spelled out, perhaps the bean-counters used that extra text for that particular trim to show “value” at the time.
This happens with other manufacturers as well. For example: the Jeep 392s which are also $100k vehicles now use to show 4.56 gears when it was optional to showcase it on the Monroney. Guess what? They stopped, yet the desirable 4.56 gears are standard now but nowhere to be found on the Monroney.
I’m gonna go enjoy my Bespoke coupe now, with sport package goods and all!
Crappy picture from last night of looking up under bumper and seeing Yamaha Damper and warning sticker behind bumper cover. You can barely look through a crack when getting under there, but you can feel the tube and mounting points very clearly.

If everything does check out, then the Bespoke owners will know for sure that they have everything this car can be from the factory without that front canard / winglet.

I've just called the parts department and gave them my vin. The replacement part# for the entire diff assembly is: 41110-11040. Is this an LSD part or just a regular diff?
Went back to a previous post regarding the diff swap, according to a post by @QwkSC this is a 2.937 gear ratio w/ LSD!!!
As for the performance dampers... I forgot to ask for the part number, but the front one at least, I was quoted $1200.00 to replace the dampers in the front. I don't know if this guy was mistaken, but all he saw was a $1200.00 damper part for the front which mounts in between the radiator & engine. Safe to assume these are Yamaha Performance Dampers?

It all makes sense. I am quite happy for you. Nice job investigating. Enjoy your ride, my friend.

Baed on what we were able to find, I am pretty sure now that these are Yamaha dampers. Even if it isn't, I haven't notice anything with my convertible that made me think about the dampers. But the LSD, I truly believe this one matters. Thank you for crawling under there for photos. It was your photos that led me to investigate further. I am going to take the savings and buy some CF spoilers with the money.
Cheers!

As for the front damper, that's available for JDM LC's in a TRD kit they sell for $1,750US, but not standard in the Sport package in the USA, at least on Coupes. It could be different on Convertibles!

The rear one that I laid eyes on and can touch is 100% the Yamaha Damper. They don't have any special coloring besides the yellow warning sticker, on a black shaft with a special mounting bracket(again, that i can touch and verify.) The USA Damper that comes on our cars is advertised as just one, and that's at the rear. So yes, you are correct in that it's the Yamaha damper.

Lexus should really clarify this, but then again, maybe it was intentional since they don't do custom builds often, nor do they like to. I am sure there are MANY who opted out of the Bespoke program due to the diff & dampers. Believe me, I know. Getting my 23 GX 460 custom built required the head of the regional head honcho of sales to reach out directly to Lexus sales team to pull some strings. Funny thing is, Lexus called it a custom build, but it realy wasn't a custom. I simply wanted to purchase a GX 460 Luxury w/ offroad package, and fully optioned out car in mid-atlantic region. Apparantly, Lexus does not ship these configurations to mid-atlantic. So requesting this build after the allocation for the off-road package has dried out, Lexus called it a 'custom build'. For the vehicles with these options in the west coast & south, had already sold out, and those being built spoken for. There was a buying frenzy to get a hold of Lexus' final V8 SUV. Go figure..
Anyway back to the LC, I am so happy right now! This is a good day!!

It's so great knowing this! My dealer gave me the first right of refusal for both the Inspiration & Bespoke. So I ordered both with intention to take only 1. I chose the Bespoke (White w/ white+blue interior, and every available options checked). The price diff with $2k-ish. I was struggling for days and losing sleep trying to choose between the hideous blue interior vs. lack of LSD / Performance Dampers. At the end I decided to spend a bit more and swap out the diff and get the car i can actually live with, without having to check myself into mental ward (too much blue). I am so glad I stuck with the bespoke. It was everything I want for my new daily / keeper.

To further complicate things, in Canada, to get the Torsen and Damper, you have to check a sub-option called the Bespoke Performance Option within the Bespoke option, to get the Torsen/Damper/Carbon sills. It is NOT standard in Canada on the Bespoke. We have many Canadian friends here, which makes it complicated because Lexus treats the two North American variants different.

Yes, the options on all LC models are very different between USA and Canada, I think they are decided by Lexus Canada and Lexus USA. The color combinations(exterior/interior) allowed are different, for example, you can get the white and blue interior without going bespoke in Canada, but only with certain exterior paints(IIRC white, black, blue) …

If a non-Torsen LC comes with an open differential, then case closed. But many times, a Torsen is an upgrade over a clutch-type LSD, so I'd just like to know if non-Torsen LCs have an open differential or not. If yes, then case closed. Ha ha. On the other hand, if the Yamaha damper is there, then since it comes bundled with the Torsen, we could assume the Torsen will be there. However, there's confusion which is the optional Yamaha damper: if the front one, or the rear one. The whole thing is super confusing. It also appears that the sport seats only come with Alcantara, so if you opt for full leather seats, they have to be the touring ones, correct? And which is more comfortable? But the performance PADS (the brakes are the same in all trims, as far as I know), so how do you know if you have performance pads or not? I'd replace them with the 'touring' ones if I hear a single squeal, since I'd never track the car. Want to hear if regular LCs have an open diff, so I can be absolutely certain a 2023 bespoke comes with the Torsen/Yamaha, when it doesn't say anything on the window sticker. This was super help folks; thank you all.
There are only two diffs listed for the LC non-hybrids in Lexus computer for parts, the Torsen and the regular diff. As for if the regular diff is LS, I dunno. The part number he got tied to his VIN is indeed the upgraded diff listed by Lexus. His has the Torsen.
You are correct that the pads are the only change on the performance brakes, and strangely, they list that on the window sticker of Bespokes. My window sticker shows “Performance Brakes.” Hate to break it to you, but they have let out a couple mild squeaks in the 48 hours of driving. They are not dead quiet.
The damper from the factory in the US is only the rear, unless anyone can look through their front grill and see a front one on a convertible. It’s made by Yamaha, but doesn’t have the branding. There’s no confusion there. They spell out over and over in press materials that it’s a rear damper, and only use the singular way of describing it.

A Torsen diff has a lot of gears, and the picture above doesn't seem to be one (see image below), so I'm still unsure that part number is actually a Torsen... unless the image is not representative of it. At any rate, I just made an offer on that bespoke '23, based on not having a Torsen/Yamaha... but hoping to find them if they accept. Ha ha. Does anybody know if the '23 bespoke package is also based on the Sport package, like '24s??? This car has the touring seats with full leather, even though the description says sport Alcantara seats, and also sport package. The salesperson acknowledged the window sticker doesn't say anything, so probably doesn't have such package. But since I'm not sure it does, I'm negotiating based on not having it, and see what happens. I offered 80 grand, but doubt they'll take it (listed at $88K+). It's listed as having 2,269 miles, so it should be close to that, I'd guess. And it's certified, so asked the person to tell me when the warranty would expire. Seems like the car has an in-service date of 2/9/23, meaning regular warranty expires on 2/9/27. Curious when it'd expire if I was to buy it today, for instance. Original MSRP was $101,790, so guess it'd be a great deal at 80, no? But it's 2K+ miles away, so I'd have to spend at least a couple of grand to get it.
Hey guys, what does 'Drop Ship Fleet' means? It's listed on the window sticker with an 'N/C' charge. Curious what that is. Thank you.
