@03LX470, as I’ve mentioned above, I rotate between elegance (blackish or white) and wow (red). The black/caramel/tan is uber elegant and I might have gone for it if I weren’t coming out of dark gray. (Fwiw, I also wonder if black might somehow inadvertently camouflage some of the LC’s lines and design flares. Maybe not. I don’t know.)
Color preference is such an individual matter. They’re both beautiful cars. You really can’t go wrong either way.
Maybe one way to decide: Imagine that it’s two weeks after purchase and you’re looking at the LC in your garage. Which might you rather be looking at then? (Put another way, which might you regret that you’re not looking at?)
Our ‘19 coupe was Infrared/black. Not just any red, it’s genuinely spectacular. Liked the car a lot but had doubts about the “boring black” interior. Did not like to see them with caramel. Remorse, even slight.
A month ago the stars aligned such that going back to an LC made sense. Especially with all these convertibles available. The look of your car, Infrared/caramel/sand top looks perfect. The light top reminds me of Bentleys and Rolls that have stunned me with their elegance and class.
But what? An orange variant is available? Rare but doable. Found one and brought it home. Folks seem to love it too, taking pictures and all that. It’s really not all that orange except in full sun, and then mainly highlights.
But no matter what, your color combination will be the classic LC preference. Something to see.

You’re right, how one might feel after a few weeks of ownership will help decide.
Perhaps this video shows it even better! I am going to find out if it’s still available.
Is Infrared exclusive to LC 500, or offered on other Lexus models as well?
I have been so anti red all these years that even my Ferrari was blue! But I must admit the Infrared looks amazing! I think it’s a pure case of the Infrared color and the LC500 complementing each other! Maybe Infrared will not look so good on other models?
My dealer has a Infrared Coupe so it would be a huge deviation from the original plan which was to have a Cabriolet.
So the choices are Infrared Coupe, Black Cab, and possibly White Cab (which might be a good compromise).
I’m not into red cars either, but our coupe was Infrared. Quite awesome. Our new convertible is in Cadmium “orange”
Last night my 24 year old son pointed out that not one of his friends has said anything positive about the new one, while everyone’s eyes lit up for the red coupe.
Older folks like it, but the color is really just “brown that looks a bit brighter in full sun”
For your purposes maybe take this to mean that Infrared has the approval of the young male hot rod crowd. And there is plenty of that demographic in everyone reading this.

It's available on other models as well. I felt the same way and I think I could own an Infrared Lexus now and would probably prefer it over the more standard dull colors (white, silver, black, gray). But I am in LOVE with my FLARE YELLOW.
Loved the looks of the Autumn Shimmer/Toasted Camel
2018 LC in the show room, so much that the wife and I decided to forego the lease on a new IS300, that we were there to sign the papers, and bought the LC instead.Have loved every minute since. Still learning about the car. Now know that some accessories (like rear spoiler roof spoiler) are hard to get. But still in love.
I think my next LC is gonna be 'ORANGE'. If you like InfraRed, gotta love the new 'Red'! It's different cause its 'Orange'. Its hot too cause its the color of the SuN.
