Clicking noise when turning

Hi all. I have a '21 hardtop with about 13k miles on the odometer. A little while back I noticed that when turning either light or left I am getting a clicking noise from the front wheels. It's not loud, but a definite click, click, click. Took it to the dealer and firs time around they said they cleaned out the brakes and hubs, and told me to bring it back if the noise returns. Soon after, that same noise returned and now the dealer is telling me that apparently this is a known issue and requires changing of the 2-piece rotors and brakes to address the issue. Kicker is that this falls under the 12 month / 12k mile warranty and is not something that is being covered.
Question for you all, has anyone experienced something like this and (a) was was the root cause and (b) how was it handled? While I am all for not replacing wear and tear parts under warranty when they've worn down, this is clearly not a wear and tear issue.
Any feedback would be appreciated.
