Exclamation 2 questions - help..

Edit: 1 question - the other I figured out.

I was trying to figure out why my Carplay isn't working on my 2018. I confirmed with two SAs over the phone that my car (before I purchased) last year, was seen with Carplay upgrade done. However when I plug the cable in and to my phone, nothing happens.
I don't have this issue with my Lexus UX or Lexus NX.

Any help/walkthrough on this process would be great as far as how owners who do have carplay on their LC's get it going. Thanks!

On your iphone settings, when you go to Car Play, do you see Lexus LC in there? If so, try Forgetting the car and then plug your phone back in to set it up. Also, car play doesn't automatically pop up, so hit the menu button above the touch pad and see if the car play option is available to scroll over to.

For the trunk theres a button in the glove box, maybe check if it somehow was pressed

Hi Javrabbit,

So I did check my iphone settings and I saw my UX and my wife's NX on there. I did not see the LC on there.
I have also hit the menu button, went through every option, did not see Carplay anywhere.

Figured out the trunk issue, wife hit the disable button in the glove box without knowing.

Is the carplay option turned on in the infotainment system? You should see in one of the "general" menus on the infotainment system the "carplay on/off"

after connecting, if i press LC menu button, instead of 'projection' in middle bottom options, i see Apple Carplay i think.

^^ Unfortunately no.. I'm not sure. What would really help is if someone can please take a video of them plugging their phone in, connecting to Carplay, and showing the settings..

That way I can try and mirror the steps the best I can..

TIA.

I have a 23 (non wireless CarPlay). The engine must be running and the cable has to be plugged into the plug under the armrest for me.

Heres what the menu looks like that someone mentioned above. If you click the Menu button, scroll to Setup, on the General tab the 5th option in the list is Apple Carplay. If you dont have that, then you probably dont have apple carplay update. (This is with my phone unplugged, power on, engine off). Click on image to see clearly

Jav -

Thank you for that photo. I don't have that in my Settings, so I'm going to safely assume I do not have Carplay. I'm not sure why two separate SAs (same dealership I've been going to for over a decade) told me over the phone when looking up my VIN that the car had the update done..

Odd.
