I was looking to replace the chrome grille assembly on my 2018 with the black chrome one they offered 2021+. The parts catalog says it doesn't fit (53101-11060), but I have a hard time believing that there were any changes to the front bumper (or body parts on the car since inception). There's basically two options for the full black chrome grille assembly (with or without park alert). That is a bit confusing as I was under the impression that the front parking sensors are in the bumper flanking the grille on each side, and there's nothing in the grille itself, so perhaps the one without park alert is the right one for US models? Any insight on the park alert sensors (with or without) is also appreciated.

Has anyone tried to upgrade their pre-2021 to this black chrome grille assembly? If not I may just pull the trigger and return it if it doesn't fit but would appreciate any confirmation from other guinea pigs who have gone down this road before.

Never knew there was a black chrome option... very nice!

 

How do you know it's black chrome? Am I missing something?

 

I've had mine covered with carbon fiber look tape:
